My very first official cake during Wilton cake classes, this one layer, 10” round white cake was my first time to “torte” a cake, filling it with a cherry and blueberry center. Base iced in buttercream icing, I created a piping gel star transfer and got to work on the many stars that would complete this Fourth of July cake. Adding my own little touches of blue colored piping gel and confetti border, and two “creating hours” later, this cake was complete. Cutting into it revealed ribbons of red, white, and blue! Happy Fourth of July!
